Description & Requirements
This role supports the Head of Sub-contracting in managing all aspects of sub-contractor engagement and commercial activities. The officer ensures the implementation of effective subletting strategies, robust contract management, and alignment with project delivery objectives - contributing to the overall commercial success of our Civil projects.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Head of Sub-contracting in formulating and executing subletting strategies across multiple construction projects;
- Lead the assessment, selection, and negotiation of sub-contractor packages in close coordination with project teams;
- Analyze cost data, market trends, and subcontractor performance metrics to drive commercial optimization;
- Collaborate with internal departments—including Procurement, Legal, and Project Management—to ensure seamless execution of subletting activities;
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with sub-contractors and vendors to support long-term partnerships;
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to enhance subletting efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and risk mitigation.
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or Construction, preferably with MRICS or HKIS professional qualification;
- Minimum of 15 years’ relevant experience, ideally within contractor;
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience, with a proven track record of independently managing a team of quantity surveyors;
- Experience with Design and Build and/or NEC contracts is highly desirable;
- Strong commercial and contractual acumen;
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills;
- Strong command of written and spoken Cantonese, English, and Mandarin is essential;
- Candidates with less experience may be considered for the position of Subletting Officer.
